damnit the season ends this week. too bad i can't go.i hate the winter.oh well now i have time to try and find a girlfriend. wow i haven't seen anyone from the team in about a month. i should do that. stupid pull bar had to break and end our season 3 months early. we had a solid top 10 in points going too. not too bad for our rookie season.too bad it is back to the old 3 bar car for next year. oh well we are going to win a lot.we haven't won a race with the car owner driving in 2 1/2 years we want to win bad.

So thats how this works, eh?
Ok, my pollock self just figure out how ya post to this stuff, im too redneck to get thrown a curve ball like joing these things. Anyway, i'm the fella around these parts known as Roach, or Roachclip if you're cool with that, or a stoner, to each his own. Anyway, huge racin fan and i'm all about the local dirt tracks, duh. Why else would I join this. Well now that i've stated the obvious lets continue.

I'm currently in the hunt for a car because I plan on racing this coming summer. I've plotted this for the past year and i'm going to do it this summer. If anyone out there in TV land has any suggestions feel free to shoot them my way. I plan on running Street-Stock at the dirt track Beckley Motor Speedway in Beckley, WV. And i'm a chevy guy, so dont be suggesting anything stupid like Ford. I got no problem with the Ford guys, but i dont fly the blue shield, thats my only thing.

So, yea I reckun thats it, this is my halfassed introduction, enjoy.

Dirt Tracking in the Carolinas
Hi fellow dirt lovers! I'm Melissa. I live in NC, and go to Lancaster Motor Speedway in Lancaster, SC to get my dirt fix! I currently am in MS caring for a relative who's got terminal cancer, but I have someone sending me tapes of the races every week. Yeah, I got it THAT bad.

We have the BEST racing I've ever seen at our little track. Feel free to check out their website at www.lancastermotorspeedway.net . We also have a blast discussing our drivers and such at www.trackforums.com/forum and it CAN get heated sometimes. lol

I sell 50/50 at the track and am fortunate enough to know several of the drivers, crews and family. Our fans are the best around so if you're ever in the area, CHECK US OUT. We run on Saturday nights. Our "Super Stock" drivers are THE BEST..........Brandy Baker, Timbo Mangum, Frankie McGuire. No others from any other tracks can touch them. It's amazing. Our regular Late Model drivers are Randy Smith (who's toured nationally on the circuit), Rambo (occasionally--he's also toured nationally) and Mike (The Flintstone Flyer) Duvall. THIS man is supposedly the OLDEST DIRT TRACK DRIVER THERE IS. He's AMAZING. Check him out at http://www.mikeduvall.com/index.html.

Just checking this out to see what's going on in the rest of the dirty world!

Its been awhile.
Hiiii. Heh. Its been awhile since I've posted. Actually, its probably been since the start of the community since I posted. So, I figured I might re-introduce myself and then just kinda head off from there. We'll see how this works.

My name is Ashley. I'm going to be 19 in May. I've lived in IL my entire life, and since I was 2 weeks old, my parents have taken me to Sprint Car Races at Knoxville Raceway. Yes, the famed Knoxville Raceway. I've been to 18 Nationals, and had the experience of competeing in the Queen's Contest Last Year. I've also been a published contributing writer for the Jay Hawk Racing Journal. I'm currently studying Journalism and Law Enforcement in College.

Sprint Car Racing is one of those things that doesn't ever leave a person. Not when you've been around it as long as I have. A lot of my friends have taken me to modified races, drag races (for both drag cars, and fourwheelers), and none of it has stuck to me like sprint cars. Infact, I always return the favor and take them to "my" races. That's where they get hooked.

Anyway. Practice night at Knoxville is this Saturday, if anyone is interested. Opening night is the following weekend, and the WoO visit the weekend after. If anyone is interested in fourwheeler drags in the QCA area, there are some this Sunday. Battle of the High Schools at Cordova Drag Way is May 22nd, and opening weekend at the Drag Strip is this weekend.

To Contact Me and Talk about Racing, my AIM is Snowball19.

If you're more interested in Sprint Car Racing...

I'm going to try and post more often, again.

Hi! I;m new. My names Jessica. Im from New Jersey. Ive grown up around dirt racing, its a shame our tracks here are getting lower in number. I like alot of racers but my favorite one is Billy Pauch. I was at New Egypt to see his 600th win. Very cool

Hey everyone. I'm Kristen and I like it dirty. Haha, anyway, I'm a Philadelphia native, but grew up running around dirt tracks all over the East coast and Canada. My father is the Tech Inspector for the United Racing Club [[www.urcsprints.com]]. He started dragging me to places like Bridgeport, Williams Grove and Grandview when I was barely able to write my own name. It's been sprint car love since then ;-) Aside from tagging along to URC events, you can catch me hanging around the Central Pa tracks with the 410s and the Pa Posse, and I'm a big WoO fan too.

Leave a message.. go'head.. I don't bite.. usually..

Oh, the things I'd like to do to Art Eckman...
So, did anyone here watch the Outdoor Channel's coverage of the World of Outlaws last season. As much as I loved having WoO races on TV every week, the coverage left a lot to be desired:

- Art Eckman should be strung up behind Workin' Woody and dragged around Eldora until he learns something, ANYTHING, about sprint car racing. It was amazing how many stupid things he would say, or how many times he would misidentify a car or battle for position - especially since the commentary is recorded after the race is over. If it was live, I could see it, but on a taped show? Lay off the sauce for a night, come in sober, and do the play-by-play. (Not that I'm implying that Art Eckman is an alcoholic. Although I'm sure he is...)

- Poor Brad Doty. He's a really good color guy, but working with Eckman is like trying to swim with a 50 lb anchor tied to you. He has to spend so much time correcting Eckman's mistakes that he really can't do any commentary.

- The Outdoor Channel might want to invest in a little more technology than a Sony camcorder. The video quality is just awful, like the "track footage" that gets sent into Speed Channel for the highlight shows. It's not going to help promote the WoO as a big ticket entertainment venue for families if the production values on the broadcasts look so third rate.

- Watching how high-quality Speed Channel's coverage of Knoxville was this year made me sad, because there's no reason the WoO can't be covered like that every week.

The 2005 Golden State Challenge schedule has been posted. Kind of interesting - more races up in the Bay Area this year at some tracks they haven't been to much recently: Petaluma, Placerville, two races each at Antioch and Watsonville. Since I'm moving to the Bay Area sometime soon, this makes me very happy.
